Indira Gandhi Govt. Polytechnic College, Chhindwara, is a leading polytechnic institute of Madhya Pradesh State. It was established in 12 September 1998 to offer 3-year diploma courses. This college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV). It was womens college initially . Later it was converted in to special co-ed college. special in the sense that in admission the preference is given to the girls but if seats are vacant against intake then admission can be given to boys. Computer Science & Engineering , Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Modern Office Management these three branches are running in the college.

Our institute vision is to give the students sound theoretical knowledge with strong practical knowledge in related branch of diploma engineering. We want to keep our students up to date with latest technologies so that they can be prepared for the future challenges.The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated.
It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. It is said If you are planning for a year, sow rice if you are planning for a decade, plant trees if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.
